Tata Wijayanta was born in Yogyakarta, Indonesia.  He completed his Bachelor of Laws degree in 1988 and Master of Humanities in 2003 at Gadjah Mada University.  Tata Wijayanta obtained his Ph.D/Doctor of Philosophy from the Faculty of Law, The National University of Malaysia (UKM) in 2008.

Since 2014 Tata Wijayanta has held the title of Professor in Civil Procedure Law and Bankruptcy Procedure Law.

Tata Wijayanta has taken various certified trainings, including:

  • Negotiator training (Indonesian Mediation Center (PMI) UGM)
  • Mediator training (Indonesian Mediation Center (PMI) UGM)
  • Training of certification as a Mediator Trainer (Supreme Court of the Republic of Indonesia)
  • Arbitration training (Indonesian National Arbitration Board)
  • Special Education for the Advocate Profession (Center for Legal Studies and Aid, Faculty of Law UGM in collaboration with Peradi)
  • Legal auditor training (Jimmy Law School & Government)
  • Curator training (Indonesian Curators and Administrators Association)
  • Tax Brevet Training (Smart Wikan)
  • Legal Due Diligence Training (Peradi Central Jakarta)
  • Legal Risk Management Training (Legal Online).

Tata Wijayanta teaches Arbitration and Alternative Dispute Resolution courses in the Master of Litigation Law Study Program at Gadjah Mada University, Master of Business Law and State Administration at Gadjah Mada University, Master of Law in Jakarta class at Gadjah Mada University and Master of Health Law at Gadjah Mada University.

In addition to working as a Certified Mediator, Tata Wijayanta is a mediation and negotiation trainer for numerous government agencies such as the Information Commission, the Land Agency, the Consumer Dispute Resolution Agency, local governments and private companies.
