The Beginning

Sandra Dini, Nugraha & Rekan (SDNR) Law Office was founded by two Advocates with extensive experience in their respective fields and great determination to  contribute meaningfully to the justice seeker and to the advancement of the Indonesian legal system. Both founders are alumni of the Faculty of Law, Gadjah Mada University in Yogyakarta.  Sandra Dini has a depth-understanding, especially with regard to legal principles and legal theories, considering her teaching experience at the Faculty of Law, Gadjah Mada University, and as a guest lecturer at several universities, while Widhi Nugraha brings extensive experience as a litigation lawyer.

Alternative Dispute Resolution Approach

At Sandra Dini, Nugraha & Rekan (SDNR) Law Office, the cases can be handled through judicial process (litigation) or through out-of-court settlement (non-litigation) namely the mediation and arbitration process.

On the one hand, by encouraging the resolution of disputes through the mediation process, the parties to the dispute may avoid considerable costs and may reduce the length of time compared to if the case were brought to trial in court (litigation).

Mediation also encourages the resolution of disputes based on cooperation between the two parties to find the best solution for their interests and to ensure the continuity of a stronger and better relationship for the long term.

On the other hand, dispute resolution through the arbitration process can also minimize the cost of legal counsel and litigation in court because it has a structured schedule and a shorter period of time that must be adhered to so that the dispute resolution process becomes faster and more efficient.  In addition, arbitration guarantees a closed and confidential settlement process, so it is more advantageous, especially for people doing business who do not expect obstacles or negative stigma from third parties or from the public that may affect the course of their business during the emergence of the dispute.

The most important thing is that the arbitral award is final and has permanent and binding legal force. If the arbitral award is not implemented voluntarily, then by the request of one of the parties, the Chief Justice of the District Court can give an order for its execution.
