
Laras Susanti is a Doctor of Juridical Science (S.J.D) Candidate at the School of Law, University of Pittsburg, USA. Laras completed her LL.M degree in Asia and Comparative Law at the University of Washington, Seattle, USA, in 2014.
Her achievement as the Best Graduate of Gadjah Mada University in February 2012 shows her above average academic abilities and her skills in organizing time between academic activities, research, organization, and community empowerment. Her diverse legal writings and papers have been published on various platforms including peer-reviewed journals and digital-based mass media such as Kompas, Tempo, Kumparan, and Indonesian at Melbourne Blog.
In 2014, Laras obtained a license to litigate at the Tulalip Tribal Court, Washington USA. Laras was also involved in advocacy by becoming a member of the Race and Justice Clinic at the School of Law, University of Washington, and participating in the Legal Clinic course development program at Gadjah Mada University Faculty of Law, which became a legal laboratory for lecturers and students, for handling real legal cases in society.
Laras actively speaks sout the legal rights of women and children and the legal rights of vulnerable groups within the justice system through the Center for Law, Gender and Society (LGS) Studies, Faculty of Law, Gadjah Mada University. Laras is also a lecturer in the Civil Law Department, Faculty of Law, Gadjah Mada University, and in the period 2018 to 2019, she was a Mentor for students participating in international competitions, including the Brown Mosten International Negotiation Competition (INC) and the International Client Consultation Competition (ICCC).
Her ability to conduct a pointed, argumentative and focused research is part of the puzzle that completes the diligence of the legal consultant team at Sandra Dini, Nugraha and Rekan (SDNR) Law Office.
